trio for piano, violin, and cello
This early work of mine was started in New York City in 2008 and finished in Montana in 2010. Each of the composition’s three movements are a tribute to a favorite composer of mine. The first movement is an homage to Olivier Messiaen. The second movement is a comical, but loving tribute to Elliott Carter. Finally, the third movement is largely composed of a Shostakovich-styled waltz.
